We keep hearing from X-ray and neutron imaging instrument scientists that those 2 techniques are very similar. But somehow those 2 worlds share only a minimum set of software tools. Instead of duplicating the effort in software development, we would like to improve the synergy and the collaboration between the X-ray and neutron imaging software needs.
During this workshop, we are planning on having short presentations (15+5mns) by instrument scientists to present their needs in software. Then presentation by software developers on tools they implemented for their particular technique. The outcome of this workshop will be to come up with a list of tools, that we need to implement, or just need to modify, to satisfy instrument scientists and users of both neutron and X-ray techniques.
