A Workshop on Symmetry and Superspace Approach to Modulated Crystal Structures will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. to Thursday, 5:00 p.m., October 23-24, 2019, at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The workshop will cover concepts and applications of superspace symmetry to study complex and modulated crystal structures using single crystal neutron diffraction. Topical lectures will showcase examples and workflows. Hands-on tutorials on JANA2006 and ISODISTORT programs will be provided for participants interested in a holistic symmetry-based approach to determine and describe single crystal neutron structures by considering changes associated with occupational, charge, and/or magnetic ordering. Participants are encouraged to bring a poster highlighting their science for the poster session.

Confirmed Speakers:

  • Vaclav Petricek (CAS Institute of Physics, Czech Republic)
  • Margarida S. Henriques (CAS Institute of Physics, Czech Republic)
  • Branton J. Campbell (Brigham Young University, USA)
  • Shiyun Jin (University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA)

Although registration is free, you must register to attend.
