McStas is a Monte Carlo simulation package for the development of neutron scattering instruments. It is widely used in the neutron scattering community and is one of the most popular of such packages for calculating instrument performance.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is organizing a 2-day meeting to introduce McStas to beginners and give more advanced regular users a forum to develop their skills. Two McStas core developers will join us and cover various topics in several breakout sessions during the two days. This is going to be a hands-on meeting, where all participants can follow the presentations with their own portable computer and generate results for themselves.
