Quad-Chart

Participants are encouraged to prepare “quad-charts” before the workshop describing biological and environmental science opportunities that could benefit from the application of neutron scattering. The quad-chart should have brief descriptions  addressing four key themes: 1. Opportunity – a clear statement of the overarching research goal; 2. Neutron Scattering tools required – a list of the capabilities needed to address the opportunity (instrument capabilities/performance parameters, sample environment, software, and others); 3. Importance of neutrons – a description of the unique or complementary role of neutrons to the specific science opportunity; and 4. broader scientific impact – a statement of the potential to benefit society and advance discovery and understanding. An example is shown below.
