SNS-HFIR User Group (SHUG) will host a virtual Town Hall on the Second Target Station (STS) to share progress since the Grand Challenges Workshop
In August 2024, more than 100 scientific thought-leaders from three continents turned out for the Second Target Station (STS) Grand Challenges workshop. The workshop identified key opportunities and capabilities the STS will have to address those challenges over the next 10-20 years through next-generation neutron scattering. A new science case document was developed and shared with the U.S. Department of Energy/Basic Energy Sciences (DOE/BES).
In the Town Hall we will update the user community on progress since the Grand Challenges Workshop and provide an opportunity for users to share feedback on the updated science case.
The Town Hall will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, July 24. Registration is open now!
We also encourage users to register for the STS workshop being held at the User Meeting on August 14. If you can't make it in person, there is also an option to register for virtual participation.
