This workshop provides hands-on training in the use of small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) in biological research. The workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn about different aspects of biological SANS, including how to perform SANS experiments using the Biological Small-Angle Neutron Scattering (Bio-SANS) instrument and approaches to analyzing SANS data. The first session includes lectures on small-angle scattering theory, experiment planning, sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis. The second session different approaches for analysis of SANS data.

The following topics will be covered:

1. Introduction to small-angle scattering.

2. Strategies and considerations for sample preparation, choice of sample environments, experiment set-up and execution, and data reduction.

3. Data analysis will cover solution scattering of biomacromolecular complexes and hierarchical biosystems.
