Travel Information

The Oak Ridge National Laboratory is located in Roane County, Tennessee, about 7 miles from the center of the city of Oak Ridge and 25 miles from the McGhee Tyson Airport near Knoxville. Other major airports that service the Knoxville area are Nashville International Airport (160 miles) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (210 miles).

Caution: Please use Spallation Drive when entering and leaving the SNS campus from ORNL.  It is the only non-restricted road access for SNS and the Guest House. Do not use Bear Creek Road or any other gravel road even if your GPS recommends it.

Someone in your party will need to have a car if your stay off Campus. ORNL is in a remote setting and the SNS and Guest House are several miles from the security gate entry point for ORNL. Uber and Lyft drivers are not allowed to enter the lab.
