The SNS/HFIR User Group (SHUG) is pleased to announce the 2023 Neutron Scattering User Meeting to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 6-7, 2023, at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), with workshops and tutorials held on June 5 and 8.
The meeting theme is Neutron Sciences: Expanding the Reach. Topics to be explored include combining neutrons and complementary techniques; devising new methods such as pump-probe, quantum information, and machine learning; and advancing neutron technology through new instruments and sample environments. The meeting will highlight the research achievements of SNS and HFIR users, staff and the broader neutron scattering communities.

Workshops include a Second Target Station satellite meeting
There will be a Second Target Station satellite meeting on June 8, and additional workshops on June 5. See the "Workshops" tab for more information and when registering be sure to select the workshops you plan to attend.
Poster reception and student poster awards
Current facility users and future collaborators will have an opportunity to present the results of their research during a poster reception. Posters submissions representing the interests and capabilities across the SNS and HFIR user communities are welcome.
Poster presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts. Poster presenters, who are graduate or undergraduate students, or post-docs, at the time of the presentation, will also be eligible to compete in the best poster competition.
Outstanding staff service awards
The SHUG Executive Committee is soliciting nominations for its outstanding staff service awards, which will be presented during the SHUG town hall meeting. This award recognizes staff members who went above and beyond to support the SNS/HFIR facilities and user community. The link to nominate an outstanding staff member will be coming soon.

- Facility posters – Posters about HFIR and SNS instrument updates and capabilities will be on display in the lobby
